Moratorium to Hungary’s Bond Residency’s Program

Moratorium to Hungary’s Bond Residency’s Program

As of March 31st, 2017, the Hungary Residency program (links to program description) will come to a stop. While applications submitted before that date will still be processed, no new requests for Hungarian permanent residence permit by investment will be accepted after the date.

Considered as one of the best Residency programs in EU, the Hungarian Government Debt Management Agency announced that the government will stop selling residency bonds after March 31st of this year, citing favourable developments in the country’s financing conditions in the last year.

The program allows the investor to:

  • Obtain a permanent residence card in one step within 30 days
  • Includes dependent children
  • Includes dependent parents
  • No requirement to reside in Hungary
