About Grenada

Grenada is a beautiful island known as the “Island of Spice”. It gained its independence in 1974 and is part of the British Commonwealth. Grenada island is well-known for its breathtaking beaches, lush national parks, rainforests and rare natural beauties.  

The Grenada economic Citizenship by Investment program was launched in 2013 and has won the award of Best International Citizenship program. This program grants full citizenship to investors, high-net-worth individuals and families within four to six months, with no minimum stay requirements.  

Grenadian passport holders can travel visa-free or visa upon arrival to more than one-hundred and forty-six key destinations such as the UK, China, Hong Kong and Europe’s Schengen Area.

Applicants can qualify for citizenship by either donating a non-refundable contribution to the Government Fund or through an approved real estate investment.

Grenada Citizenship by Investment Scheme

: There are diverse and multiple investment options available for obtaining citizenship in Grenada, with each investment program offering unique benefits. Here are some of the available investment options: 

Government Fund

The applicant makes a non-refundable monetary donation to The National Transformation Fund (NTF). The contribution will depend on the size of family as follows:

  • USD 150,000 for single applicant
  • USD 200,000 for main applicant and spouse
  • USD 200,000 applicant, spouse and up to two dependents
  • An additional USD 25,000 is applicable to each additional dependent.
  • USD 1,500 per each applicant above the age of seventeen
  • USD 500 per each applicant below the age of seventeen
  • USD 5,000 for main applicant
  • USD 5,000 for the spouse
  • USD 5,000 for each dependent sixteen years and above
  • Application fees: USD 1,500 per each applicant below the age of seventeen

Investment in Real Estate

The applicant purchases a government-approved real estate project in Grenada for the minimum value of USD 220,000 and maintains it for a period of five years.
  • USD 50,000 for an applicant and up to three dependents
  • USD 25,000 for each additional dependent regardless of age
  • USD 75,000 for each additional sibling above eighteen
     
  • USD 1,500 per person above the age of seventeen
  • USD 500 per person below the age of seventeen
  • USD 5,000 for main applicant
  • USD 5,000 for the spouse
  • USD 5,000 for each dependent between the ages of seventeen to thirty

Requirements of Grenada citizenship by investment

The Citizenship by Investment program in Grenada offers individuals the opportunity to obtain citizenship and a passport through investment. To qualify for the program, applicants must meet specific requirements related to their personal and financial backgrounds.

  • The principal applicant must be at least eighteen years of age.

  • Applicants must pass a Due Diligence examination and have no criminal record.

  • The applicant must make the appropriate investment.

  • If a real-estate investment is made, the applicant must hold such investment for five years.

  • Dependents can be included in the application. Children aged seventeen to thirty years may be considered dependents provided they are studying full time and are fully dependent on the main applicant, also unmarried brothers and sisters can be included regardless of age.

  • Applicant can include dependent parents above fifty-five years of age.

Grenada Passport Application Timeline

  • step 01

    Bluemina does a preliminary background check. Once cleared, file preparation begins and required documents are collected. Advisory, government and due diligence fees are paid.

  • step 02

    File is submitted.

  • step 03

    Issuance of “Approved in Principle” letter by the CBI (Government’s Citizenship-by-Investment Unit).

  • step 04

    Investment is made in selected option, either real estate or a donation to the National Transformation Fund.

  • step 05

    Naturalization certificate is issued.

  • step 06

    Submission of application to issue the passport followed by issuance of Grenada passport.

Legal Basis

The Grenada Citizenship by Investment Program came into being in August 2013, when the Grenadian Parliament passed Act No. 15 of 2013, otherwise referred to as the ‘Grenada Citizenship by Investment Act, 2013.’ The stated objective of the Act is to enable persons to acquire permanent residence and citizenship in Grenada by registering investments made in the country.
